Get Garin Walking

Garin is a very happy 13-year-old boy who has a form of Cerebral Palsy called Spastic Diplegia. He is unable to stand unaided and uses a walking frame to walk short distances. SDR surgery can change all of this for Garin; unfortunately, NHS Wales will not fund this operation. Therefore, we need to raise £40,000 to enable him to have the surgery in America, which we have achieved—thank you to everyone who helped us reach our goal.

The surgery is just the first step. Now, Garin needs ongoing physiotherapy and strength and conditioning sessions to make the most of the surgery, which the NHS is unable to provide in the amounts prescribed after the procedure. Therefore, we need to raise £10,000 to provide the aftercare needed to enable Garin to become fully mobile and independent.

7.5% of all donations to Tree of Hope in relation to this appeal will be allocated to the general charitable purposes of Tree of Hope to cover our core operating costs.
