A safe sensory garden for Charlie
We are fundraising because all children deserve to play outside safely
Charlie loves gaming like most teenagers but also anything that involves a ball and water. However, he is agoraphobic and struggles on a daily basis to leave the house. He has complex additional needs including being autistic, ADHD, depression, sensory processing disorder and Developmental Coordination Disorder which means he can trip easily and hurt himself. He struggles with his sensory processing and has severe anxiety being outside the house as the world around him is a very overwhelming place.
We have tried to make our garden the best we can but we need your help. We would love for him to be able to enjoy the garden more without him worrying if he is going to trip and injure himself and be able to be in the open air more in his safe place. Leaving the house is a HUGE thing and he can barely make it past the back door most days.
The plan would be to have the garden levelled out, artificial grass laid, have a summerhouse where he can retreat for some regulation time but still be able to be outside. Relocate our current trampoline so it can be secured into the ground for safety and to install a couple of raised planting beds for vegetables and herbs so he can grow his own as he is an avid cook too. He would love some kind of a ball water feature as water helps him to regulate and helps to keep him calm. This garden would simply be life changing for him and in turn our family.
We THANK YOU for any support, kindness and any help in raising this money. It truly means the world to us
