Rare Diseases
What are rare diseases?
99% of genetic conditions are classed as rare*. Often rare diseases are chronic and life-threatening.
About
Rare diseases include rare cancers such as childhood cancers and some other well-known conditions, such as Cystic Fibrosis, Huntington’s disease, Battens Disease, Angelman Syndrome, and chromosomal disorders.
How we can help children with rare diseases
Treatment options for rare diseases are vast. Outside of NHS prescribed medications, children can benefit from additional therapies, adaptations and equipment to help them achieve everything they possibly can.
