Superboy Joey!
Joey was born with a life threatening condition, a gene mutation of VPS4A of which only 10 others have it in the world. This means there is no cure or therapy that can help so the family symptom manage through medicine and a vagal nerve stimulator and their main priority is to makesure Joey is as comfortable and happy as possible.
Chris, Joey's Dad came to Tree of Hope in 2018 as all of the support Joey can benefit from to make his home as accessible and comfortable as possible, all requires self funding and cannot be funded by the local authority or NHS.
To date Chris has raised over £15,000 of his £25,000 target thanks to his work colleagues, friends and Chris taking on challenges himself to support ongoing maintenance of Joey’s equipment and costs associated with all those things required for daily living with his condition. In addition to ongoing therapies and equipment maintenance, as Joey grows, his needs are evolving and he will need access to specialist chairs, further equipment around the home and whilst out and about . He also requires sensory equipment to ensure he has the best possible learning experiences whilst he gets older.
Due to Joey being registered with Tree of Hope, Joey's campaign has also benefitted from grants to help them towards their target, helping relieve some of the pressure, which having charity staus can really help achieve.
"All funds raised sit with Tree of Hope and are only spent on the things that have a direct impact on Joey and his health and well-being. Donations made by UK taxpayers can also check the box to add gift aid for an additional 25% to be added at no cost"
