Eddie’s CP Journey

Fundraising with Tree of Hope for Eddie's therapies

Our son, Edward is 3 years old and lives in West Yorkshire. I had the perfect pregnancy with Edward but had a traumatic birth without any warning. As a result of the HIE birth event Edward has been diagnosed with Hemiplegia Cerebral Palsy,

I expected this given all the research I did in those very early days, the days where you should be soaking up every minute with your newborn, not researching brain injuries.

In spite of what life has thrown at Edward at such a young age he is thriving. However, he needs regular therapy to strengthen his body and learn skills for life. NHS appointments consist of physio, occupational therapy, speech and language, orthotics and ophthalmology. We also attend private therapies too, including; physiotherapy, conductive education and horse riding.

Our next goal is to pay for a three week intensive block of therapy - as you can imagine it is costly!

Please join us on Edward’s journey to get the therapies he needs.

7.5% of all donations to Tree of Hope in relation to this appeal will be allocated to the general charitable purposes of Tree of Hope to cover our core operating costs.

If we raise insufficient funds, or surplus funds, they will be used, if appropriate, to fund support for our child’s needs in accordance with Tree of Hope’s charitable objectives. If, in those circumstances, we are unable to use all or part of the funds for the benefit of our child, any funds that cannot be used will be transferred to be used for the general charitable purposes of Tree of Hope.
